Acupuncture (Ages 13 and up)
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to promote healing and balance. It is believed to stimulate the body's natural healing processes by enhancing blood flow, releasing endorphins, and influencing the nervous system. Many adults find it to be a holistic, minimally invasive alternative to conventional treatments.
Pediatric Acupuncture (ages 12 and under)
Pediatric Acupuncture adapts the traditional practice to be more comfortable and suitable for young patients. While some kids may tolerate the insertion of very fine needles, for others our acupuncturist will choose to use non-needle techniques to achieve similar benefits. These methods are designed to be gentle, non-invasive, and soothing, making acupuncture safe and effective for children. These techniques include:
Acupressure: Applying gentle pressure to acupuncture points using fingers or tools instead of needles.
Laser Acupuncture: Using low-level laser light on acupuncture points to stimulate them without piercing the skin.
Tui Na Massage: A form of Chinese therapeutic massage that targets specific energy pathways and acupuncture points.
Shonishin: A Japanese pediatric acupuncture method that uses small, non-invasive tools to stroke, tap, or rub the skin, stimulating the energy points without penetrating the skin.
Moxibustion: Applying warmth to acupuncture points through the burning of a small, dried herb called moxa, often used in combination with other techniques.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture, is a natural, non-invasive treatment aimed at enhancing the appearance of the skin and promoting a youthful look. It combines traditional acupuncture techniques with a focus on facial areas to improve skin tone, reduce wrinkles, and promote overall vitality. Here's how it works:
Stimulation of Collagen Production: Tiny, thin needles are inserted into specific points on the face, as well as body points, to stimulate blood flow and the production of collagen. This helps to firm and tone the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Increased Circulation and Oxygenation: The needles encourage better circulation, which brings more oxygen and nutrients to the skin. This can lead to a more radiant, glowing complexion.
Muscle Tone and Relaxation: Facial muscles are gently stimulated and relaxed, helping to reduce tension in areas where fine lines form, such as around the forehead, eyes, and mouth. It can also help lift sagging areas by improving muscle tone.
Reduction of Puffiness and Dark Circles: Acupuncture can improve lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and diminishing dark circles under the eyes.
Holistic Health Benefits: Since facial rejuvenation acupuncture also involves points on the body, it works holistically to address internal imbalances, which can contribute to improved skin health, reduced stress, and enhanced overall well-being.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture works with the body’s natural healing processes and offers gradual, long-lasting benefits with no downtime. Typically, a series of treatments is recommended for optimal results.
Neuromuscular Facial Acupuncture
Neuromuscular facial acupuncture is a therapeutic technique that targets facial muscles and nerves to address conditions such as pain, tension, and dysfunction in the face, jaw, and neck. This form of acupuncture is particularly effective for those suffering from conditions like: Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ), Facial muscle tightness, Chronic headaches or migraines, Bell's palsy, Facial nerve pain, Tension and stress held in facial muscles.
Holistic Microneedling
Holistic microneedling is a natural approach to skin rejuvenation that combines the traditional practice of microneedling with a broader, wellness-oriented perspective. It uses tiny, fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface, stimulating the body’s natural healing processes to improve skin texture, reduce scars, and promote collagen production.
How it works: A device with very fine needles is gently pressed over the skin, creating micro-channels or tiny punctures. These micro-injuries stimulate the body's wound-healing response, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for firm, youthful skin.
Unlike conventional microneedling, which may focus solely on the mechanical aspects, holistic microneedling integrates acupuncture to fully support not just your body's natural healing process but also to support your skin from the inside out. Each Holistic Microneedling treatment is tailored to your individual skin type and needs. We consider your lifestyle, diet, and stress levels as part of the treatment plan. Sessions may include recommendations for natural skincare, supplements, or stress-reduction techniques to support long-term skin health.
Holistic Microneedling is suitable for addressing acne scars, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, large pores, and uneven skin tone, promoting smoother, more radiant skin over time.
Holistic Microneedling offers a natural, integrative method of skincare that not only rejuvenates the skin but also supports overall well-being, making it a favored choice for those looking for a gentle, yet effective, graceful aging treatment.
While microneedling is generally considered safe for most people, certain individuals should avoid the procedure due to potential risks or complications. Those who should not undergo microneedling include:
pregnant or breastfeeding people, active skin infections or condition (active psoriasis, rosacea, cold sores),
propensity to keloid or hypertrophic scarring, those with blood clotting disorders or taking blood thinners,
recent laser treatments or sunburn, people with autoimmune disorders, people taking immunosuppressive medications, uncontrolled diabetes, recent use of Accutane (Isotretinoin) (within the past 6 months).
Cupping Session
A 30-minute cupping session involves the use of special cups placed on the skin to create suction, promoting blood flow, reducing muscle tension, and encouraging healing. It is common to feel a sense of relaxation and relief in the targeted areas.
The cupping marks are a result of increased blood flow to the area and are considered part of the healing process. The marks usually last for a few days but can sometimes persist for up to a week, depending on your skin type and the intensity of the suction.
